Outdoors report: Aug. 13

Galveston – Southwest winds blew 10-15 mph for most of the day making for a tough bite. Best water was around San Leon and best catches came on live shrimp. Matagorda – Most of the bay was off-colored from stiff west winds. The Colorado River is green but few anglers found a consistent bite.Palacios – Guide Ray Sexton reported a tougher bite for trout on live bait. Weak tides and west winds were significant factors. Lake Livingston – Bass action is good on crankbaits. White bass are good under birds on jigs and spoons. Bink Grimes
