Special prosecutors named for David Temple murder case

By By Brian Rogers The controversial case has become one of Houston’s most notorious because of the grisly crime, the emotional trial eight years later and then the reversal of his conviction after a decade of fervent appeals.

Temple, 48, was released from prison last year after his murder conviction was tossed out by the state’s highest court for prosecutorial misconduct.

At trial, prosecutor Kelly Siegler and defense attorney Dick DeGuerin focused on the timeline and whether Temple had enough time to stage the burglary, shoot his wife, then appear on surveillance tape across town.

After the conviction was dismissed, prosecutors said they would have to review mountains of evidence, statements and judicial opinions to determine if there was enough evidence to go to trial again. [READ MORE HERE]
